200 Crusaders Take The Stage PDF Print E-mail

Three Crusader Drum and Bugle Corps performed on stage of the Foresteire Center For The Performing Arts plus the fabulous Citations and Elluding Gravity.  Elluding Gravity opened the show with 7 Originals. This rock quartet is made of Alumni from the Crimson Tide Marching Band, Bryan Yebba and Sean Yebba.  Next was the host of the Concert The Everett Crimson Tide Marching Band that performed Patriotic Selections.  The Boston Crusader Senior Corps lit the crowd up with their fabulous production of many Crusader Classics including EL Capitan and Conquest.  The 50+ Horns filled the stage to capacity with a blistering soloist.  The percussion line laid out what traditional drumming is all about.  Jack LaSelva Drum Major of the Crusaders interacted with the students of the band to check out the fabulous drumming that was quite evident.

The Rochester Crusaders performed delightful Jim Prime arragements including Holst the Planets, Moorside March, Song Without Words with a layering of Venus, the Dargasson which features two musical numbers played at the same time Irish Washerwoman and Greensleeves.  They concluded the performance with Jupiter.  Cru headed to the Bunker Hill Parade the next day.

The Citations were the surprise of the night with balance and blend in all sections.  The drum line is the most improved over last year with fabulous brass playing.  They performed in two parades earlier in the day and quite frankly were on fire with their performance... Congratulations.

The Boston Crusaders  wow  72 Horn Players  and a drum line of 10 S  4 Q 5 Bass..  They are quite ready musically with an aggressive approach that made the alums quite proud of their old drum corps.... They are quite ready to go up the DCI ladder this summer....  Samson and Delilah was the hit of the show which brought back fond memories from corps years ago...  Jay Kennedy has out done him self with the weaving of melodic material that goes on through out the show which keeps the audience always on the edge....  they will be a crowd favorite this summer...
